3 tips for a sustainable everyday life

Do you also have a desire for a more sustainable and environmentally friendly daily operation?

It can be difficult to know where to focus first on the desire for a greener approach to everyday life and the day-to-day operations of the company, store or webshop. It can seem manageable, and often with the assumption that it is expensive to go the sustainable way.

But - of course, it is possible to implement a few changes easily and greenly. With the following measures, you are getting started and helping to leave a less burdensome footprint on the environment. Remember to flag to your customers and suppliers that you have taken an active position and are trying to run your business greener.

A green profile can bring you new customers while taking care of the planet. It's pure win-win !

Here are our 3 best ideas for how to get the green and sustainable measures started.

1. Replace the plastic packaging - we have the alternatives

It can take up to several hundred years to break down plastic, and every year at least 8 billion tons of plastic are discharged into the world's oceans. Contribute to minimizing the discharge of plastic into nature by sorting correctly, but preferably by avoiding plastic. But how?

Replace plastic gift bands with recycled bands made from recycled plastic bottles.

2. Wrap gifts with care for the environment

Every Christmas over 825 tonnes of wrapping paper is thrown out in Denmark alone - that's the equivalent of 138 African elephants(!) And that's only in the month of December out of a whole year.

Switch to recycled paper , and watch out for overuse; If you only use exactly the paper that is needed for each wrapping, you reduce waste, and it is also a better solution economically. A roll lasts much longer that way.

TIP! It can be an advantage to use a gift wrap holder , which makes it easier to control the amount of paper for each wrapping.
And if you still have a little left over, cut it off and store it in a drawer in the counter for the smaller packages.

3. Recycle shipping boxes

Millions of packages and boxes are sent every day, and the majority of them are only used once before being thrown away. Can it not be made more sustainable? Yes!

Try to reuse cardboard boxes you receive yourself, and buy shipping boxes that can be reused by the recipient for return or forwarding.

Also use a box that matches the contents. It is a waste of CO2 to transport air because the box is too big.
