The Bag Lady's sustainable package filling

Together, let's find a way to make shipments and gift baskets more sustainable.

Every year we send countless amounts of packages, consignments and gifts - all filled with beautiful goods that need to be taken care of. But transport unfortunately leaves its mark, and it is therefore a wish for many to remedy this a bit with more sustainable shipping packaging.

I have collected a few suggestions for you below - both the effective, beautiful and different ones. All sustainable and environmentally friendly!

Eel grass for stuffing in gift baskets

The best choice – and best looking – if your package filling is to be sustainable, is eel grass . Our eel grass is a type of seaweed that is collected on the Danish beaches and then dried so that it does not smell - but only has a mild smell of hay. It provides good protection and a nice and rustic look to your gift basket.

After use, the eel grass can be spread in beds, pots or balcony boxes, where it will fertilize the soil and eventually become one with nature.

Wood wool for wrapping

Wood wool is an environmentally friendly natural material that is used for wrapping and lining gift baskets. If you have to make a gift basket with different fillings of e.g. glasses and bottles, wood wool provides good protection while still looking nice and rustic. The wooden wool is a beautiful and at the same time sustainable solution for lining gifts.

Packet filling of corn starch

Finally, you can also use foam filling made from cornstarch if it is to be a sustainable and affordable solution for filling cardboard boxes. It is biodegradable and 100% compostable (DIN EN 13432 certified), and can be easily disposed of.

The package filling is produced and manufactured completely without plastic and chemicals
